The price is right for Drew Carey

Bob Barker did 6,586 episodes of The Price is Right, the longest running game show in TV history. It’s no surprise that the person with the greatest number of hours on TV is eighty-three year old Bob Barker. If Drew Carey stays in his new job, he’ll take over that title when he’s 84, unless he also does another show. Drew Carey may just have a master plan: He’s also the host of Power of 10, a new CBS show launching August 7th.

On Power of 10, contestants win by accurately predicting how Americans answer questions like “How many Americans believe they are smarter than President George W. Bush?” and “What percentage of Americans say they were virgins on their wedding day?”

But even with two shows can Drew Carey match the 11 Daytime Emmy awards won by Bob Barker? Entertainers today need a little controversy to be popular. Can he get sued for sexual harassment by show models like Dian Parkinson or for libel and slander by the American Humane Association for ten million dollars? Will Barker’s Beauties give way to Carey’s Cuties?

Bob Barker was pleased with the choice for his replacement. Rosie O’Donnell had no comment.
